In my role as treasurer of the friary here in Camiri, I attended a meeting last week of the guardians (superiors) and house treasurers of the Bolivian Franciscan province. The meeting was held in Tarata, a town outside of Cochabamba, where we have a retreat house/conference center. On my way to and from the meeting, I stayed at the old friary of San Francisco in Cochabamba. I had forgotten how photogenic the place is. Here are some photos of the house:
Cochabamba, at this time of year, is also quite beautiful. The summer rains have stopped and yet the winter coolness has not yet set in. Here are a few pictures of the central plaza:
