Quinn, archbishop emeritus of San Francisco and president of the U.S. Catholic Conference and National Conference of Catholic Bishops from 1977 to 1980 in America magazine is really, really good. How can we say that abortion is a preeminent issue and yet not the only issue? This article, written for his fellow bishops in light of President Obama’s visit to Notre Dame is well worth reading.
