This is the blog of Jim McIntosh, OFM, a Franciscan friar living and working at a soup kitchen, St. Francis Inn, in Philadelphia, Pa. I am also the national digital media director for the US Franciscans.

Previously, I worked in the missions in Peru and in Bolivia, for four years in each country. I have an ongoing interest in the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) mission of the Franciscans.

What does the subtitle (“Habitus non facit monachum“) mean? Well, I wanted something in Latin so the blog would look a little classy. I was going to go with “Vasa vana plurimum sonant” (=”Empty pots make the most noise”) but decided to go with “The habit does not make a monk.”
